About Us…

I studied for my degree in Management Science at Swansea University in 1999.

I then completed my training as a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW while working for a firm of accountants in London where I specialised in audit.

I won the Chris Reay Memorial Prize for my success in the exams, one of my proudest moments after the birth of my two children.

I returned home to Cornwall in 2004 and have since worked for three different firms’ of accountants.

I have specialised in Limited Companies, Partnerships, Sole traders, Corporate and Personal Tax, depending on the firm, giving me  a wide range of experience.

I qualified as a chartered tax adviser (CTA) in 2012 which helps me to ensure that I can assist clients to be as tax efficient in their affairs as possible.

When I am not working or reading I am spending time with my husband and two beautiful children and with any spare time I love a bit of gardening.

I started my accountancy career in London at Mazars before returning to Cornwall and completing my ACCA qualification.  After working for my family accountancy practice in Truro, I joined Kelsall Steele Ltd (now Azets) as Manager of the Corporate Department, moving up to Director in 2011.  I focussed on limited company tax and accounting and was a Responsible Individual for audit purposes.

I also qualified ACA in 2011, adding further qualifications of Business Finance Professional (ICAEW) and Diploma in Charity Accounting (ICAEW).  In order to expand my business knowledge and experience, I joined a prestigious FMCG business in 2019 and worked across finance and HR, advising on acquisitions and grant funding, progressing to be their CFO.

I have returned to my core background of practice accounting and joined Catherine Bennett as Manager in 2025 having worked with Catherine in a former business. I enjoy giving a personal, tailored service to each client and being part of their business journey.

In my spare time, I enjoy sea swimming, coastal walking, cinema trips and cars; all shared with my husband.

I had worked with Catherine previously and a chance meeting and fortunate timing lead to me joining Catherine Bennett Ltd in June 2015.

With over twenty years’ experience gained from working in two other firms of Chartered Accountants in Cornwall, I was able to bring experience in accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies as well as bookkeeping and the preparation of VAT Returns together with various other office skills acquired after years of working in practice.

In my spare time I enjoy walking, running, reading and watching Formula 1. I also enjoy taking holidays in the UK as well as abroad, particularly in France.

I completed my honours degree in Mathematics in 2014 and became MAAT qualified in 2020. I enjoy the challenges that working with numbers provides as there is always something new to learn.

I’ve been with the company since 2018 and I enjoy the diversity of work as well as being part of such a great team. At Catherine Bennett Ltd we have a wide range of skills and expertise which allows me to gain experience over a variety of different softwares and practices.

During my free time, I enjoy swimming and socialising with my friends and family.

After completing my A Levels in 2021 I started an accounts apprenticeship with Catherine Bennett Ltd which took me through Levels 2, 3 and 4 of AAT and I qualified as MAAT in 2024.

I particularly like using the different software programs involved with the job and expanding my knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, accounts and tax. I really enjoy working with the friendly team who are always happy to help.

Outside of work I play euphonium in a brass band and attend many concerts and contests with them.  I also enjoy helping with the family steam engines and taking them to shows during the summer.
